It’s a hop, skip

and a jump away

National Skipping Day

22 March 2019

Get ready for the 17th National Skipping Day!  Over 300,000 children have got involved over the last decade and it’s time to make that number even higher!

This year the organisers, Skipping Workshops are attempting to clock up 15 million skips on the day.  Each child taking part will be set the challenge of 1000 skips – it should only take 15-20 minutes but with over 62,000 children taking part the 15 million target should just be a hop, skip and a jump away!!

Skipping is a great cardio activity and so much fun it won’t feel like your typical work-out!  And adults are welcome to join in too!  We all loved skipping when we were younger and this is a fantastic excuse to relive the memory for one day.

Unlike a lot of other commemorative days, this isn’t fundraising for a charity.  It’s just meant to be a fun and healthy day.  What other reason do you need?

If you’re a school that would like your pupils and staff to take part, just fill in the form at the National Skipping Day website.
