Make payroll enquiries your goal! National Payroll Week 5-9 September 2016

National Payroll Week
National Payroll Week

National Payroll Week is celebrated this September!  Set up by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), their organisation is the leading provider for qualifications and training for pensions and payroll.

Everyone tends to have a specific day, week or month that they get paid. And it’s essential that this is reliable!  Paying employees the correct amount on time keeps your business running smoothly and your workers happy!

And do you know just HOW important salaries are to Americans?  A poll in 2010 showed that 57.41% of people were more concerned with higher wages than improved health benefits!

The same poll showed that the majority of extra money added to paychecks as part of the Obama economic stimulus plan went towards paying the bills.  We can all see why people are concerned with money more than ever in the current climate!

2013 saw around 1200 organisations people taking part in events up and down the country!  But, CIPP are always looking to bigger an better things – can you help them get even more people involved in 2016?

If you would like to get involved, the first thing you can do is order your National Payroll Week pack – complete with posters, stickers and balloons.

Take on little tasks or events in the workplace that will advertise this year’s theme.  Or set up a booth (decorated with your promotion pack posters, stickers and balloons!) somewhere noticeable like in the reception.   It will be a place for people to ask questions and get information about their payroll slips – CIPP themselves are happy to come and speak to workers about any questions or queries they might have.

Other ideas offered are a cake stall, a staff party or raffle.  But be creative, think up your own event that will both inform people and make the learning process fun.   For all the information you need go to the official website.

And what’s more, once you and your colleagues have had fun celebrating your event in the workplace don’t forget to get in touch with CIPP afterwards, they want to hear about what you got up to and they will publish your photographs on their website!
