National School Sport Week takes place from 20-24 June 2016 – time to get your sports kit on!
The event is organised by the Youth Sport Trust. It is the largest celebration of school sport. Since the event was first held in 2008 millions of school children and young people have taken part!
After all the excitment of the London 2012 Olympic Games, this is still a great opportunity to keep the momentum going and encourage more young people to get involved in sport. Especially as the Rio Olympics will be taking place this summer!
In 2015 over a million children took part in events up and down the country and the events were a great way to get young people involved in sports. The week also helps to raise the profile of sport and it encourages young people to try out a whole range of different sports. And more sport and activity = healthier young people!
