Ever worry that you might lose your pet? Just get a microchip and you’re all set! National Microchip Month Every June

National Microchip Month – It’s so easy to lose track of a pet – when our cat was a kitten she ran off on a summers day – we found her a few days later thankfully!

We were lucky.  But a microchip would make finding your pet much easier- which is why we have this important awareness month!  And did you know that by 2016 it will be compulsory for all dogs to be microchipped and you will have to ensure that your contact details are kept up to date!

It’s quick and pain-free for your pet and just means that if he or she goes missing the RSPCA (Royal Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) should be able to get him back to you asap!

And, don’t forget by April 2016, in England it will be compulsory for all dog owners to have their pooches microchipped, and you need to ensure you keep your contact details up to date.

The chip is put under the skin and contains whatever contact info you want to put on it – so that when an RSPCA inspector uses their special scanner all your details come up!

All it means is that if your pet goes missing you can easily find them again.  When a soaking wet cat called Tommy was brought to the RSPCA he was scanned and immediately reunited with his very thankful owners!

So this June if you would like to donate or hold a fundraising event it will be much appreciated.

All of the money raised goes towards helping animals and creating brilliant inventions like these.  For more information, go to the National Microchip Month website.
